As someone who appreciates the finer things in life, Azqa Haroon recently had the pleasure of experiencing Maysan Doha, an LXR Hotels & Resorts property by Hilton. Nestled on the edge of Aspire Park, this luxurious retreat offers a perfect blend of opulence and tranquility, making it an ideal choice for a staycation.
A warm welcome in a palace-like setting
As I stepped onto the property, I was greeted with a sense of calm. Maysan Doha is housed within what used to be a palace, and you can feel that history in the details—arched doorways, carved woodwork, and soft lighting that makes you feel like you’re somewhere truly special. The staff welcomed me with warm smiles and refreshing drinks, setting the tone for what turned out to be a beautiful stay.
The property is peaceful, and even though it’s right in the city, it feels like a world away. Lush gardens, quiet courtyards, and winding paths make it feel more like a private estate than a hotel.

My villa was one of the highlights of the stay. Spacious, beautifully designed, and complete with a private pool, it gave me all the space and comfort I needed to unwind. The hotel also offers a range of activities to suit every guest. For those wanting to stay active, the paddle court is a great way to burn off some energy in a beautiful outdoor setting. Families with little ones will appreciate the vibrant kids club, thoughtfully designed to keep children entertained in a safe, creative space.
And when evening falls, the outdoor cinema adds an extra layer of charm. Whether it’s a quiet night with loved ones or a family movie under the stars, this feature makes for a truly memorable experience.
Food that feels like a journey
Dining at Maysan Doha is an experience in itself. I started my day with a delicious breakfast at La Casa—fresh fruits, eggs made to order, and local flavours that gave a taste of Qatar.
Later, I tried some of their signature dishes for dinner, which felt like a culinary journey through the region. The food was flavourful, beautifully presented, and the service made it even more enjoyable.
If you enjoy slow mornings over coffee and quiet dinners by candlelight, this place is just right.
Wellness & relaxation
Another highlight was the spa. Calm music, herbal tea, and expert therapists—it was the perfect way to disconnect. I opted for a deep tissue massage, and it truly helped melt the stress away.
The hotel also has a well-equipped gym and lovely walking paths if you’d like to stay active. And of course, the location right next to Aspire Park means you can take a peaceful stroll just steps from your villa.

Maysan Doha is more than just a luxury hotel—it’s a true escape. The thoughtful service, peaceful setting, and unique blend of tradition and elegance make it one of my favourite staycation spots in Doha.
