JAYEETHA PRAKASH IS A MOM INFLUENCER AND CONTENT CREATOR

  1. What does being a mother mean to you?
Being a mom is definitely an empowering feeling! When I first became a mom I was clueless, then over time I realised that this is a journey, where I get to recognise some of my greatest strengths and weaknesses. It is a learning curve; it can be exhausting and overwhelming at times but definitely, worth it.
  2. How has motherhood changed you, both as a person and as a professional?
It has definitely made me a more patient and empathetic person. It’s a beautiful journey of unlearning and learning new things where we are able to embrace new perspectives in life. As of today, I consciously make efforts to be a better version of myself, to become someone who makes my girls proud. My page “mommy_musingsss” is where I share everything about my motherhood journey and my girls’ milestones. I like to keep it raw by sharing all my struggles as well the happy moments that makes it my unique journey. Connecting with fellow moms, exchanging stories, learning something new from each other have definitely made these six years on the social media worthwhile.
  3. Who are the mothers that have inspired you the most in your life, and why?
I take inspiration from the women around me. I learn something from every mom out there, who hustles every day, who never gives up, who tries her best to provide a happy environment for their little ones. Moms inspire me every single day. But if I had to name someone it would be Sudha Murthy (educator, author and philanthropist and chairperson of Infosys foundation). She’s a dynamic woman who inspires so many of us with her thoughts and humility.
  4. What is the most important lesson you’ve learned from your mother, or from being a mother yourself?
I have learnt to believe in myself. Motherhood gets very tricky as we tend to second-guess ourselves a lot. In these six years one important thing I have learned is to believe in myself and my instincts as their mom. Everything else falls into place eventually.
  5. How do you balance your responsibilities as a mother with your career and personal goals?
Time management and planning ahead keeps me sane with all the chaos that comes with handling two toddlers. I understand that pursuing your goals after becoming a mom is difficult, but it is not impossible! I started this page when I was pregnant with my second daughter. It gave me so much of insight and made me achieve things that I had never dreamt of! Yes, I would love to go back to my 9-5 job soon but I haven’t ever regretted being a stay-at-home mom and an influencer. I have still lots of dreams and goals to achieve and I am sure my biggest cheerleaders are going to be my two beautiful daughters.
