Lusail International Circuit (LIC) became a hub for cycling enthusiasts as it hosted an open cycling day in collaboration with the Qatar Cycling Federation (QCF). The event drew over 400 participants, offering them the rare opportunity to ride on the same track where Formula 1, MotoGP, and World Endurance Championship drivers and riders compete.

The event was divided into two main sessions. From 6pm to 8.30pm, cyclists enjoyed an open ride around the world-class circuit, taking in the exhilarating atmosphere. At 9pm, the QCF-LIC Ramadan Cycling Individual Time Trial Competition kicked off, allowing registered cyclists to test their speed and endurance on the iconic track.
In the Men’s Individual Time Trial, Qatar’s Fahed Al Khater clocked the fastest lap at an impressive 6 minutes and 32 seconds, securing first place. He was followed closely by Iran’s Abdollah Masoomi in second place and Great Britain’s Bevan James in third. In the Women’s category, Great Britain’s Daniela Sposi claimed victory with a lap time of 8 minutes and 37 seconds. Chelsea Sophia Periodico of the Philippines secured second place, while Qatar’s Lolwa Al Marri finished third.
The event marked a milestone for Qatar’s growing cycling community, showcasing the nation’s passion for the sport. Lusail International Circuit remains committed to hosting more community events, further strengthening Qatar’s position as a hub for sports and recreation.
