From filmmaker to curator and now entrepreneur, Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani is redefining the creative landscape in Qatar with his latest venture, Intajat. Azqa Haroon sat down with him to learn more about his vision and what makes this platform such a powerful catalyst for emerging talent.

QH: What inspired you to launch Intajat – and why now?

Khalifa Al Thani: The idea came a few years ago when I noticed a gap—artists needed an easier, more accessible way to share their work with a wider audience. Initially, we imagined an online store showcasing artists in Qatar, but it evolved into something bigger. Intajat is now shaping into a creative platform with workshops, labs, education, and cross-cultural collaborations. It’s more than a marketplace; it’s a space to support art in all its forms, including cinema.

QH: How is Intajat changing the game for emerging artists?

Khalifa Al Thani: We just launched, so our first goal is accessibility. Many talented artists in Qatar work quietly in studios and remain unseen. Intajat wants to change that—by giving them visibility and helping their work reach homes and collectors, locally and internationally. Qatar is a multicultural hub, and Intajat reflects that diversity. These aren’t hobbyists; they are real creatives who deserve a platform.

QH: What role will Intajat play in the future of Arab creativity?

Khalifa Al Thani: While we’re Qatar-based, our goal isn’t limited to Arab creatives. Intajat celebrates everyone contributing to Qatar’s creative scene—regardless of background. Our vision is to create international partnerships, support diverse talent, and amplify what already exists here by making it accessible and collaborative.

QH: You wear many hats – filmmaker, curator, entrepreneur. How do you juggle it all?

Khalifa Al Thani: Honestly, I don’t see it as work. I’m driven by passion, and I love what I do. Creatives are always thinking about the next project, and that restlessness keeps me going. I thrive in interdisciplinary spaces, and collaboration fuels me. It’s not always perfect, but it’s always fulfilling.

QH: Where do you see Intajat in five years?

Khalifa Al Thani: In five years, I hope Intajat grows into a truly impactful platform that supports and nurtures creativity. I want it to be community-led and artist-driven. If we can build something that helps creatives thrive—and if they feel seen, heard, and supported—then we’ve done our job.
