Azqa Haroon visited the newly revamped Elements at Four Seasons Doha and was blown away by the transformation. Here’s a glimpse into her unforgettable Mediterranean dining experience.
Enchanting ambience
Known for its reputation as a beloved dining destination, Elements has embraced a Mediterranean twist, elevating its offerings and ambience to unmatched heights. The restaurant’s transformation is evident in every detail, from its cosy yet sophisticated indoor seating to the stunning outdoor terrace that offers a view of lush gardens. It’s the perfect spot to bask in Doha’s pleasant weather while indulging in a culinary adventure that takes you across the Mediterranean.
Delightful starters
My journey began with a thoughtful touch—a complimentary basket of fresh bread accompanied by a vibrant green butter. This simple yet delightful offering hinted at the culinary brilliance that awaited. Among the starters, the berry muhammara stole the show. Featuring a blend of aubergine, capsicum, cherry syrup, and macadamia, it was a flavour-packed dish that felt both comforting and adventurous. The sweetness of the berries juxtaposed with the savoury elements created a dish that was truly memorable.
The Arancini, filled with spicy beef chorizo, manchego cheese, and saffron aioli, was another standout starter. Each bite delivered a satisfying crunch followed by a burst of rich, smoky flavours. The Lubina carpaccio, with its delicate peach dressing, basil oil, and passion fruit accents, offered a refreshing yet complex dish that was light and satisfying. The tangy beetroot salad added a pop of colour and flavour with golden and candy beets paired with Greek yogurt and aged balsamic, creating a dish as visually appealing as it was delicious.
Chef’s signature mains
Chef de Cuisine Claudio Leanza, the mastermind behind the menu, brings an unparalleled level of creativity and passion to every dish. His ability to balance bold flavours with delicate textures was evident in every bite. The lamb shank was a triumph, with tender saffron-braised lamb paired with a hearty bean cassoulet, onion relish, and a hint of mint that tied the dish together beautifully.
The lobster linguine was another highlight—perfectly cooked Canadian lobster tossed with bisque, confit tomatoes, and lemon breadcrumbs that added a zesty crunch. The mykonos carrot, a dish of harissa-spiced carrots with Greek yogurt and chickpea pops, showcased how even humble ingredients can be transformed into culinary art. For seafood lovers, the Omani prawns were a dream, with their chargrilled sweetness enhanced by a tangy sweet chili glaze and lemon zest.
Sweet tooth
No meal is complete without dessert, and Chef Saul, Elements’ pastry chef, ensured it ended on a high note. The Greek yogurt semifreddo was a revelation–light, creamy, and irresistibly refreshing. Initially, I thought I’d just have a taste, but it was so mouthwatering that I couldn’t resist finishing every spoonful. The phyllo mille-feuille, with its delicate, crunchy layers and perfectly paired vanilla ice cream, was another standout, offering a symphony of textures and flavours that lingered long after the last bite.
Final thoughts
From start to finish, my dining experience at Elements was nothing short of spectacular. The impeccable dishes, warm ambience, and breathtaking views create a setting that feels both luxurious and inviting. If you’re searching for a Mediterranean-inspired escape in Doha, Elements at the Four Seasons Doha is a destination that promises not only incredible food but also unforgettable memories. Chef Claudio’s culinary genius and the entire team’s dedication make this a place I can’t wait to return to.
