Azqa Haroon from Qatar Happening recently experienced Sora Rooftop’s Monday Sushi Night at the Park Hyatt Doha, where sushi dreams really do come true. Set atop the stunning skyline of Msheireb, Sora Rooftop is the place to be for sushi lovers seeking an elevated, endless evening of Japanese indulgence with matching views that make every bite more memorable.

Walking into Sora Rooftop felt like stepping into an oasis of elegance and calm, with twinkling lights and the Doha skyline glistening below. The night began with a steaming bowl of miso soup and an assortment of appetisers, each one carefully created and full of flavour, hinting at the delights to come.
Then came the sushi platters – bountiful and beautifully presented, showcasing the delicate artistry of sashimi, maki rolls, and nigiri. Each piece felt like a personal creation by chef Fabio Fioravanti, featuring prime cuts of tuna, salmon, and sea bass sashimi that practically melted on the tongue. The freshness of the fish was striking, and the nigiri was layered over perfectly vinegared rice, offering that satisfying balance of umami and sweetness.

Maki rolls and endless refills

One of the best parts? If you fall in love with a specific roll or can’t get enough of the nigiri, Sora’s Monday sushi night offers unlimited refills. I loved going back for my favourite maki rolls, which ranged from classics to unexpected combinations such as spicy tuna with avocado and a bit of crunch that added a fun twist. With each plate, it was easy to get swept up in the experience, whether enjoying old favourites or trying something new.
The concept of endless sushi made the experience feel indulgent yet relaxed – no rush, just the pleasure of sharing delicious bites with great company as the night unfolded. It’s the kind of dining experience where every plate feels like a new adventure, and every piece is just as satisfying as the last.

Enchanting ambience on the rooftop terrace

As lovely as the sushi was, it’s the setting that truly takes Sora Rooftop to the next level. With the outdoor terrace overlooking the breathtaking Corniche, you can dine under the stars while enjoying the gentle Doha breeze. The terrace is perfect this time of the year, offering a beautiful escape from the city’s pace, with live piano music playing softly in the background. It’s intimate yet vibrant, with the skyline shimmering in the distance and the elegant ambience of Sora adding a touch of sophistication.
The atmosphere here has a certain magic to it. As we enjoyed our sushi, I found myself captivated by the view – a dreamy, almost cinematic backdrop that transformed the meal into something truly memorable. The combination of stunning views, expertly crafted sushi, and the camaraderie of friends made it feel like a much-needed, soulful retreat at the start of the week.

A deliciously unmissable Monday ritual

Priced at QR249 per person, Sora’s Monday Sushi Night is not just a meal; it’s a weekly ritual worth cherishing. The experience is perfect for reconnecting with friends or enjoying a peaceful night out, accompanied by incredible flavours and views that linger long after the meal is over. chef Fabio Fioravanti’s passion for Japanese cuisine shines through each dish, and the generous, refillable platters make it ideal for true sushi lovers.
