Azqa Haroon recently had the pleasure of returning to Bentley’s Grill, nestled within the familiar Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha, eager to experience their exciting new menu additions.

hile Bentley’s Grill had previously struck me as a classic, perhaps even exclusive, steakhouse, this visit promised a fresh perspective. The restaurant exudes a relaxed yet upscale charm with its rich ambience. It’s clear that Bentley’s Grill has cultivated a loyal following, particularly among steak connoisseurs seeking a truly elevated dining affair, drawn by the promise of premium cuts, attentive service, and a welcome sense of privacy.

A prelude to perfection: Starters

My culinary journey at Bentley’s Grill began with a selection of appetisers that set a high bar for the rest of the evening.
Angus beef steak tartare is an exquisite start. The Angus beef was incredibly tender and flavourful, finely chopped and seasoned to perfection. The crispy melba toast provided a delightful textural contrast, while the vibrant truffle mayonnaise added a creamy, luxurious touch. It was a sophisticated and perfectly balanced dish.
Prawn carpaccio is a refreshing and elegant choice. The thinly sliced prawn carpaccio was delicate and sweet, beautifully complemented by the creamy avocado and the bright, zesty citrus caviar vinaigrette. The caviar added a touch of indulgence and a delightful pop of flavour. This starter was light, flavourful, and a wonderful counterpoint to the richer dishes to come.
Scallop cake is a revelation. The scallop cake itself was moist and flavourful, packed with tender scallops. The combination of fresh spinach, earthy mushrooms, and sweet tomatoes added depth and complexity. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the classic Beurre blanc sauce – rich, buttery, and utterly divine. It elevated the scallop cake to a truly exceptional level.
Lobster bisque is a luxurious and comforting soup. The bisque was incredibly smooth and creamy, with a deep, rich lobster flavour. The generous slices of lobster added a touch of elegance, and the dollop of fresh crème fraîche provided a lovely tanginess and richness. It was a truly satisfying and memorable soup.

The main event: Steaks and more

Choosing a main course at Bentley’s Grill is indeed a delightful dilemma, given the array of tempting options. I was particularly drawn to their renowned steaks.
I also had the opportunity to revisit their steak offerings, and the certified angus beef /USDA/prime graded option did not disappoint. The quality of the beef is evident in every bite, and the preparation allows the natural flavours to shine. The certified angus beef/USDA/choice graded is also an excellent option, offering great flavour and value.
From a previous visit, I recalled the Australian Wagyu beef rib eye, a true highlight. It was cooked to absolute perfection, boasting a slight crisp on the outside and a melt-in-your-mouth succulent centre. The tangy pepper sauce complemented it flawlessly, creating an exquisite flavour combination.
I also remembered the braised Wagyu beef tips, which were infused with unique and unforgettable flavours. The portion was quite generous, making it a must-try for any serious beef lover. This time around, the Braised beef cheek caught my eye, and it was a fantastic choice. The beef cheek was incredibly tender and flavourful, falling apart at the touch. The accompanying truffled mashed potatoes were rich and creamy, and the green vegetables and roasted cherry tomatoes added a welcome freshness and balance to the dish.

Sweet endings: Desserts

To conclude my meal, I indulged in their tempting dessert selections:
I savoured the molten chocolate cake, a classic for a reason. The warm, rich chocolate oozed out perfectly, complemented by the cold vanilla ice cream and the satisfying crunch of the nut brittle tile.
The summer Rhubarb crumble was another excellent choice, offering a delightful contrast of tart rhubarb and sweet crumble, enhanced by the sticky toffee sauce and creamy ice cream.
Throughout the meal, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and ensured a seamless dining experience. The complementary breadbasket at the beginning and the refreshing frozen berries shot at the end were thoughtful touches that added to the overall enjoyment.

Final verdict

Bentley’s Grill at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha, offers a truly exceptional dining experience. From the elegant ambience to the attentive service and, most importantly, the exquisite cuisine, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you’re a steak aficionado or simply seeking a refined and memorable meal, Bentley’s Grill is a must-visit.
