Crowell & Moring Doha, one of Qatar’s leading international law firms, hosted a special event titled ‘Honouring Women in Law’ to commemorate International Women’s Day 2024. This insightful gathering, held on Thursday, March 7, showcased the expertise of some of Qatar’s most distinguished legal professionals.

In his opening remarks, Charbel Maakaron Managing Partner of Crowell and Moring Doha said, “International Women’s Day is the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate and amplify the unique strengths and contributions women bring to our field. The event featured a panel discussion titled ‘Empowering Women in Law’, led by Luigia Ingianni, Commissioner at the Employment Standards Office of the Qatar Financial Centre. The panel comprised esteemed professionals including Maryam Al Kuwari from Qatar Satellite Company (Es’hailSat), Francesca Gori from Accenture, Claire Bechara El-Khazen from Al Mana Fashion Group W.L.L., and Catherine Martinez from Crowell & Moring Doha. These experts shared personal insights on fostering self-confidence, embracing positive affirmations, and actively pursuing professional growth. The discussion aimed to address the self-limiting beliefs often faced by women in the legal field.

Drawing from her extensive expertise in corporate, banking, and finance, Catherine Martinez of Crowell & Moring Doha emphasized, “Addressing self-limiting beliefs is not just about personal growth, it’s about reshaping our professional environments to be more inclusive and supportive of women’s invaluable contributions. By confronting these beliefs head-on, we can pave the way for a future where women in law feel truly empowered and confident enough to aspire to leadership roles based on the merits of their work and professional achievements.”
