Katara Hospitality, Qatar’s leading global hotel owner, developer, and operator, is partnering with the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) to offer exclusive privileges to Himyan National Cardholders, including debit and prepaid cards, across its affiliated properties in Qatar. This initiative aims to promote and boost the tourism sector and local economy.

As part of the Himyan package, Katara Hospitality is offering discounts at all its local establishments, including The Ritz-Carlton, Doha; Sheraton Grand Doha; Sharq Village & Spa, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel; Al Messila Resort, a Luxury Collection Spa Resort, Doha; Gulf Rixos Doha Hotel; Raffles Doha Hotel; Fairmont Doha Hotel; Salwa Beach Resort and Villas managed by Hilton; Sealine Beach Resort, a Murwab Resort; Simaisma, a Murwab Resort; Jouri, a Murwab Hotel; Somerset West Bay Doha; Mövenpick Hotel Doha; and Al Dana Club.

Exclusive privileges include varying discounts on room rates based on the season and length of stay, as well as discounts at affiliated hotels’ food outlets, spa services, and entry to Desert Falls at Salwa Beach Resort. Terms and conditions apply, such as discounts being valid only at restaurants associated with Katara Hospitality hotels and excluding group, corporate, or social events. The Himyan package aligns with QCB’s efforts to enhance electronic payment services in Qatar.

As the first payment card bearing a Qatari brand, the Himyan Card is being introduced in phases, initially targeting all demographics, including youth. Its issuance ensures enhanced safety, as all transactions will be processed locally through established networks, ATMs, and online platforms. All types of Himyan cards can be issued by any local bank, except for debit cards, which must be issued by the customer’s own bank.

A key objective of the Himyan Card is to boost domestic tourism in Qatar while offering exclusive benefits to guests staying at Katara Hospitality’s hotels. It is set to become integral to the hospitality experience at Katara Hospitality’s properties nationwide, with the hotel brand anticipating the card to raise awareness of the country’s rich cultural and tourism heritage, and positively contribute to the tourism sector and local economy.

The Himyan package announcement aligns with Katara Hospitality’s efforts to enhance Qatar’s rich history, cultural heritage, and sporting achievements, underscoring the nation’s distinguished position on the global stage.
