QH REVIEWS THE LOCAL GETAWAY THAT IS EVERY BIT WORTH YOUR WHILE

From the outside the hotel appears to be just another distinguished mansion in D-Town but once you enter, it feels as though you are transported to a different world far away from the madding crowd. The good part? It is located merely 15-minute drive away from the city centre. What more could you ask for in terms of convenience.

A peek into our villa
It’s not often that a hotel’s villa resembles my actual dream house. Usually, the hotel is ultra-modern and doesn’t have the comforting coziness of home, or a little outdated without the glossy touches of fresh sparkle. Maysan Doha however, manages to capture crisp clean marble lines to brighten the rooms and a fresh wooden sophistication to soften the space as well as plush, chic furniture in the designs of each room.
Our splendid 745 sqm two-bedroom luxurious villa with a private pool and garden view through the wall-length windows, spacious living and indoor/outdoor dining areas, a well-equipped pantry and guest powder room was much more than what we could ask for. The king-size bed at the centre of the room overlooks the private pool and a comfortable round day bed right beside the window to take in the view more closely. The dressing room with an ample closet area leads to a massive bedroom sized bathroom with dual rain showers and a more than inviting bathtub. It’s the type of room you cannot wait to get home to after a long, hectic day.

Come dine with me
The property has made sure to keep kids and teens busy with fun amenities such as two padel tennis courts, fully equipped fitness centre, two swimming pools and a fully supervised kids club. After a fun padel tennis game, we were now ready for dinner. La Casa – an all-day dining restaurant offers a grand array of food artistically presented in a beautiful set up with an outdoor terrace facing the hotel’s central pool.
The restaurant offers scrumptious dishes with selections of Italian and international cuisine. The Black Angus Tomahawk steak we ordered was deliciously copious, served with a variety of sauces and roasted baby potatoes. We would also highly recommend the royal shrimps and wagyu rib eye. However, if you do not wish to step out of your dream home and relish a fancy dinner then the extravagant in-room dining menu would come to the rescue.
Waking up to the magnificent view really is a pleasant way to start your day. But stepping right out after a dip from your totally private pool into the garden to the intimate in-room breakfast is the delicious cherry on top. Large portions, good for two in the set menu breakfast laid out in an absolutely beautiful setting looking right over the pool is surely something you would fancy experiencing.

Touching tranquility
The main communal pool overlooking the iconic Torch tower is the perfect place to cool down under the hot sun. The property also has on offer a beautiful spa. We had the luxury to try its Balinese massage. The therapist was very professional and the atmosphere in the spa tranquil. As you might expect, there are a variety of treatments to choose from so whether you want a facial or a couple’s massage there’s more than a few excuses to treat yourself.

The scorecard
It’s safe to say Maysan Doha is the type of place you don’t look forward to leaving. Not just because nobody wants to skip their usual routine, but because the decadent property feels like home. And honestly if I could choose a hotel to base my home’s luxurious design on, it would be Maysan Doha, from ceiling to floor!
