Mutaz Barshim Secures Historic Fourth Olympic Medal with Bronze in Paris

Qatari champion Mutaz Barshim claimed the bronze medal in the Men’s High Jump at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Barshim cleared 2.34 meters, marking his best performance of the season and earning him third place.

The gold medal went to New Zealand’s Hamish Kerr, who cleared 2.36 meters, while American Shelby McEwen secured silver with a career-best jump of 2.36 meters.

With this latest achievement, Barshim made history as the first high jumper to win four Olympic medals. His collection includes a gold medal from Tokyo 2020, along with silver medals from Rio de Janeiro 2016 and London 2012.

This bronze marks Qatar’s first medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics and solidifies Barshim’s status as the most decorated Qatari athlete in Olympic history, with a total of four medals.
