The mouthwatering starters
What begins with the look and feel of the place carries through effortlessly to the gastronomic experience at Ruby Wu’s that is nothing short of spectacular. For starters, we indulged in the deep-fried prawns with mayonnaise and black sesame seeds, a dish that perfectly balanced crunch and flavour. The shredded beef with Szechuan chili sauce added a spicy kick that was both invigorating and satisfying.
Moving on to the dim sum, the steamed chicken and shrimp dumplings (Siew Mei) were delicate and flavourful, setting the stage for the main courses. The hot and sour seafood soup was a comforting bowl of goodness, teeming with fresh seafood and a harmonious blend of spices.
Exquisite main courses
Among the standout dishes, the Szechuan stir-fried prawns with cashew nuts were a revelation, offering a delightful mix of textures and flavours. The stir-fried beef tenderloin with vegetables in black pepper sauce was another highlight. The tender beef effortlessly melted in the mouth, leaving a lingering taste of exquisite seasoning.
For a vegetable fix, the stir-fried mixed vegetables were a perfect choice, providing a fresh and vibrant contrast to the richer dishes. Each bite was a celebration of flavours and gastronomic expertise.
Decadent desserts
No meal is complete without dessert, and Ruby Wu’s does not disappoint. The spiced crepes with caramelised pineapple and honey ice cream were a sublime ending to a fantastic meal. The combination of warm spices, sweet pineapple, and creamy ice cream was heavenly.
