Azqa Haroon sat down with Monica to learn about her journey and her advice for feeling stronger inside and out.
QH: What got you into fitness and kitesurfing?
Monica: It started with my dad. He was into sports and owned a sports company, so I grew up active and surrounded by that lifestyle. I’ve loved movement and staying fit ever since.
QH: What’s your go-to morning routine to feel energised?
Monica: Honestly, I wake up with energy! I’m enthusiastic and always ready to do a lot in a day. I think staying active and doing sports regularly keeps that energy flowing.
QH: What advice would you give women who want to feel stronger but don’t know where to start?
Monica: Start with your mindset. Don’t exercise just to look good—do it to feel strong physically, mentally, and emotionally. Find a sport you genuinely enjoy and everything else will follow. Surround yourself with people who share that energy. The goal isn’t just abs; it’s inner strength and mental health.

QH: How do you stay motivated on tough days?
Monica: Some days I don’t feel like training, but discipline keeps me going. I know I’ll feel great afterward. Sport is like therapy—it’s my happy pill. Whether it’s gym or kitesurfing, once I start, I remember why I love it. That passion pulls me out of any slump.
QH: What’s one quick tip to balance fitness, fun, and life?
Monica: Take care of your diet and be consistent. Genetics play a part, but what you eat is key. Don’t train just for the “summer body.” Do it because you love it. Find a sport that makes you happy, and the rest—fitness, balance, and joy—will come naturally.
